We look forward to welcoming you in Bochum! This page provides practical guidance on travel, accommodation, and getting around, helping you plan a comfortable and stress-free trip.
Travel by Air and Train
Arrival via Düsseldorf Airport is recommended, as it provides convenient public transportation links to Ruhr University Bochum. There are several train lines (some require to change the train) connecting the airport and Bochum main station (Bochum Hbf).
For travel by train, the use of long-distance rail services to Bochum Hauptbahnhof is recommended.
From Bochum main station the subway line U35 provides connection to Ruhr University Bochum. Exit at station "Lennershof" and walk to building ID (if you exit at station "Ruhr-Universität Bochum" you will get to the center of the university, the walk from there to building ID is a few minutes longer).
From station "Lennershof" walk down the street "Im Westenfeld" (not uphill!) until it ends. Turn right into "Lennershofstraße" and walk until it curves to the right. At this point, continue straight ahead across the small green area to I-Nordstraße (do not follow the curve). The first building on the left is Building ID, where the conference will take place.
The following figure summarizes public transportation to the university.

Travel by Car
By car, access is via the A43 or A448 motorways, followed by "Universitätsstraße". Take the exit “Ruhr-Universität Ost / Hochschule BO” and continue along "Schattbachstraße" until you reach "Am Hochschulcampus". Follow this road to the parking garage adjacent to Building ID.

The entrance to the parking garage and Building ID, where the conference takes place, are shown in the image. Please do not be concerned about the barriers at the parking garage: parking is entirely free of charge, and the barriers open automatically when you approach. There is typically ample parking available.
